Card of the Week - Mountain

What makes mountain so special that it deserves a spot as the first Card of the Week. It really is a simple answer, it is the only card to appear in more non-special sets(ie. Duel Decks, Commander, etc.). When Wizards decided to make the first expansion, Arabian Nights, they planned on including at least one printing of all the basic lands to make it a stand alone set that could be played without owning any cards from Alpha and its companions at the time. It wouldn't be until Ice Age that we would start to have this concept be applied to sets and not till recently did all the sets have their own basic lands. With that, we salute you Mountain and your ability to sneak your way into a set as the only basic land.
